If you are thinking about embarking on any work from home opp via the internet, this post is for you.

When I started secret shopping, I heard from everyone around me, family and friends, that it was a farce, a scam and so one. And, when in my first month I made about $100.00 which I would not actually receive for another month, it only reassured those around me they were right. But, I refused to give up and within a few months, I was bringing home $200.00 - 400.00 a month. Within a year, I was making $200.00  - 400.00 a day. This caused those around me to sit up and take notice. Everyone who knows me will now say, it is all for real.

I started secret shopping so I could be home with my newborn daughter and raise her rather than having her be a child of day care. My son, 22, was always with babysitters and in daycare while I worked my butt off to support us. Though him and I are very close, and he grew up to be a wonderful man, I feel I missed out on so much when he was young. I didn’t want this to happen again.

About three months ago, I made a decision to teach the industry for anyone who wanted to learn it, and the best way I thought possible was the internet. I’ve been using the internet for 10+ years and can move around the internet like anyone else. But, oh sh** was I in for a rude awakening when it came time to construct a website, learn html, start a blog, marketing, and everything else associated with working the internet. Starting anything online is definitely NOT a case of, “If you build it, they will come.”

Setting aside working secret shopping to teach it, forced me to look at other means of income, so I started researching work from home opps on the internet. I have now been at this whole new endeavor of teaching secret shopping and learning work from home opps, researching, building, and you name it for almost three months, busting booty 16-18 hours a day most often seven days a week, and to date, I have made about $100.00 online….scary, huh? And, again, everyone around me has been telling me to give up and get back to secret shopping, and again, I refuse to quit.

Well, I have news. The light bulbs went off last week. I have been searching and searching for that one opportunity that will pay consistently $100.00 a day working online.  Last week, it all hit me… I now know to succeed in working the online programs, it is not about making $100.00 a day from one source, but making $1.00 a day from a hundred sources….that is the key to success. That seems like a scary thought at first, but read on because now that I know this, I’ve been in full blown mode to prove it and it is working.

Making a dollar a day from one hundred sources does not mean you have to work one hundred sites a day. To make one hundred dollars a day, you have to built it and work at it….but, if you stick with it, it could be very rewarding.

There are so many opps online, but you have to use them to your advantage, and I will begin blogging how to do that, beginning today and into the future. So, stick with me, and follow along.

This will be today’s example and a great place to start. Remember, this is just one of several things:

One of the first things I did to make money online was write an article about secret shopping, and I published it on Associated Content. My expectation was a million people would read it, and it would make $1,000.00 in the first month….right!!!! In the first month it made about 10 cents. Talk about discouraging. My article was published on Dec.2, 2007.…To date, it has earned $0.47. I have since published five more articles on A/C, and to date these five articles have earned about $0.80 combined on A/C….but, here’s where the light bulbs went off last week.

I have been a member of another writing community, Helium, but until a few days ago, (light bulbs), I have not done anything with it. I wrote my first article about tipping in a restaurant, and in the first day it earned $.02.

But, here’s the deal. I own the copyrights to these articles and neither Helium or A/C has been given exclusive rights to my articles, so I can re-publish them other places. From here, it all comes down to basic math.

I read the average article will generate income for about ten years online. Let’s say I write one article a day and publish it in ten different places and at each place it earns $.02 per day. That’s $.20 a day. Over ten years, one article should generate about $730.00. Now, as a lot of writers do, say I write 3 or 4 articles a day, over ten years, I should earn about $2,500.00 combined for the three to four articles.

Okay, now that we know how much an article is really worth, let’s put it into perspective in terms of present income writing one article a day and publishing it in ten places.

Today, I would be earning $0.20. Tomorrow, I would be earning $.40 a day. The next day, I would be earning, $.60 per day, and so on. After one year, I would be earning, $73.00 per day from this one source of income. In two years, I’ll be earning $146.00 per day, and on so. But, what makes this really great????….I’m laying by the pool, snowboarding in the mountains, sipping on a Mai-Tai in Hawaii, sleeping comfortably and still making my money everyday from this one source. Once the article is written and published, the work is done.

Let’s say your 30 years old, and you stick with it…by the time you’re 50, you may just have generated 20 years of future income from this one source.

How long does it take to write an article? Of course there are a lot of variables…research, strength of writing skills, etc. but, most articles for these types of publications are roughly 400-600 words. This post took me about 1 ½ hours and contains about 1,300 words. Writing 3-4 articles a day can be done.

So, where do you start? Start with Helium. They have lots of opportunities to earn some immediate income in other ways, such as contests, marketplace, etc. And, they are very helpful when it comes to learning their site. If you’re not a strong writer, you can use your local library to strengthen your writing skills, take a credit/no credit course at your college, etc. But, most importantly…get started.

I will be blogging tons of sites and ways to make dollars a day from different resources and show how the residual income is impacting. If you’re serious about working from home, stick with my blog and stick with the opps. I believe long term, stable income is on it’s way.
